VANDALIA — In February 2017, the Vandalia Lioness Club welcomed in two new members, Lynn Braden and Sandy Spencer, to their club who will share by giving to others and volunteering their time.

At age 14, Lynn moved here from Jeremiah, Kentucky and attended Northridge High School. She married Pat, the love of her life, and they were married and had three children. Now there are also three grandchildren but sadly Lynn lost her husband Pat a year and a half ago and she became widowed. She worked over 40 years as a medical secretary, 20 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital and 15 years at Lifestages at Good Samaritan North. She enjoys reading mystery novels and also volunteers at Hospice with the craft programs.

Sandy moved here from Northwest Indiana. She is married to Jack and they have three daughters. They also have three grandsons and another grandson on the way.

Sandy and her husband enjoy UD basketball games and love to travel. She does a lot of crocheting and knitting for Hospice of Dayton and also volunteers at St. Chris in the rectory. She has fun with her friends playing Bunko and Mahjong and loves “golden oldies” music. She and her husband has attended many Rolling Stones concerts.

The Vandalia Lioness Club meets the first Monday of each month and provides support to the Vandalia community through the food pantry and many other programs serving the area.
