Ellish retires from Vandalia Public Works


City of Vandalia employees gathered to celebrate the retirement of Public Works Supervisor Randy Ellish on Monday. Ellish retired on Tuesday, Feb. 28 with 30 years of service. He is pictured with his wife Gail. Prior to working for Vandalia, Ellish was a carpenter. He also served as a new and used car mechanic at Hal Gilliam Ford for a time. Hired as a “maintenance worker,” he was promoted to the position of Public Works Maintainer in 1988 and became a supervisor in 2014. His children are Sara, R.J. and Kate.
