Vandalia swears in Justin Adkins as new police officer

VANDALIA — The City of Vandalia Division of Police swore in Justin Adkins as a police officer on Monday morning.

According to Adkins’ personnel order, Adkins graduated from Kenton Ridge High School and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Technology and OPOTA certification at Clark State Community College in 2009.

Adkins previously served as an officer in the Springfield Police Department.

Adkins will undergo field training during his probationary period. He fills a vacancy created by the promotion of Sergeant Jennifer Chiles and the retirement of Scott Breisch.
