Friday night dinner offered at Marian Manor
BUTLER TWP. — Marian Council Knights of Columbus 3754 offers Friday Night Dinner of Fellowship on March 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 5 p.m. The menu will be: Fried Fish and French Fries, along with sides including Salad, Cole Slaw & Applesauce. Cost is $7.50/adult, $4.50/12 and under, or $22/family. Desserts are 50 cents while they last. This dinner will continue every Friday during Lent. Marian Manor is located at 6050 Dog Leg Rd., Dayton. Receive a free 50/50 ticket when you donate two or more canned goods to share with those less fortunate. All are welcome.
Smith Planetarium to explore going to Mars
VANDALIA — Free shows are offered on the second Saturday of the month during the school year at the Smith Middle School Planetarium. Shows begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the community. Seating is on a first come-first served basis. The February show will be held on March 11 and will explore various topics of interest from the audience.
STEM Classes at the Rec Center
VANDALIA — Explore science, math, and engineering topics in this series of fun interactive classes taught by Aerospace Engineer, Joe Reiger. The classes are taught by an engineer with an aerospace degree. He has 20 years of experience designing special machines and robotic equipment that are used to make everything from automotive parts to kitchen blenders. For ages 8-12 years old. The cost is $20 Resident / VRC Member; $25 Non-Resident. The theme for Wednesday, February 22 is Egg Drop: Learn what momentum and impulse are. We will discuss how different materials carry loads and change momentum into a force. Then in honor of Nation Engineering week using different materials we will build our own safety capsules to protect an egg that we will drop test. VANDALIA — Celebrate with new friends as we PLAY with the Holiday! Children will enjoy music, books, a craft and other fun activities with a different theme each class. This program is for ages 2-5 years old. The cost is $5 Resident / VRC Member; $7 Non-Member per class. Hugs and Hearts will be held on Friday, February 10 from 9:00-10:00am. Vandalia Lions Club meets twice monthly
VANDALIA — The Vandalia Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Cassel Hills Golf Clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. The club does not hold dinner meetings in July or August. Programs include speakers covering topical subjects. The program topic at the Feb.23 meeting will be Astronomy and the Smith Middle School Planetarium with Scott Oldfield.

VANDALIA — MOPS and MOMS Next meetings offer community and mothering support to mothers of children age birth through six. MOPS and MOMS Next meetings are held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vandalia (122 W.
