Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

November 23

A complainant on Skyview Dr. reported that an unknown person used her personal information in Florida after receiving a collection notice for a medial facility in Florida. The investigation continues.

Shelby R. Peterson, 24, of Springfield, was arrested for OVI after a crash on N. Dixie Drive. She was released to a sober friend.

November 24

An unknown subject attempted to pry open a door to a residence on Pool Ave. The investigation continues.

Two subjects stole a pair of Emerson Smartab readers from the Dollar General store on W. National Road. The investigation continues.

Kurtis A. Dixon, 28, of Camden, was issued a summons for assault after an incident at the Little York Tavern.

Lionel Triplett, III, 41, of Springfield, was arrested for multiple warrants including theft, passing bad checks, and misuse of a credit card. He was taken to the county jail.

An unknown suspect smashed the back window of a residence on Dellsing Dr. Several items were stolen. The investigation continues.

November 26

A known person overdosed on an unknown substance at the Travelodge on Poe Ave. The person was revived with Narcan and transported to the emergency room.

November 25

A complainant stated that license plates were stolen from a vehicle at a body shop on Poe Avenue. The investigation continues.

A complainant on Sand Lake Road reports that unknown persons forced entry into his vehicle and stole items. The investigation continues.

November 26

A complainant on Tionda Dr. reported an unknown person caused damage to his vehicle. The investigation continues.

November 27

A complainant at the Red Robin Restaurant on Miller Lane reported someone broke windows in his car and stole items. The investigation continues.

November 28

Officers responded to Wyse Road on the report of a suspicious vehicle. Police found a male in the vehicle unconscious and unresponsive. He was transported to the hospital. Drug possession charges are pending lab results.

November 29

A 16 year old female was charged with being unruly/runaway. The case was referred to juvenile court.

A vehicle was towed from Continental Court after finding the tenant no longer lived at the address.

A complainant reported that his semi truck was struck by another truck while parked at Flying J. There are no suspects.

William M. Trimble, 54, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for failure to appear for arraignment on a criminal trespassing charge. He posted bond and was transported home.

A 16-year old female was charged with being unruly after an incident at her Spartan Ave. Home. She was referred to juvenile court.

Police responded to Miller Lane on the report of a road sign being struck. The suspect vehicle left and Vandalia Public Works notified.

November 30

Sunbelt Rental reported that items were rented and not returned. Attempts to contact the suspects have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

Sunbelt Rental reported that a dump trailer was rented and not returned. Attempts to contact the suspect have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

Jordan M. Rinearson, 34, at large, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant out of Miami County for OVI. He was transferred to the custody of a Miami County Deputy Sheriff.
