BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Accident reports

October 24 – York Commons @ Miller Lane

Unit #1 was traveling southbound on Miller Lane and when at York Commons Boulevard, Unit #1 turned right (west) onto York Commons Boulevard. As Unit #1 made the turn, the left front wheel and tire from Unit #1 separated from the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck Unit #2, which was traveling eastbound on York Commons Boulevard in the right-turn lane.

October 24 – Benchwood Road @ N. Dixie Dr.

Unit #1 was traveling west on Benchwood Road in the left turn lane and when at North Dixie Drive, Unit #1 failed to stop within the assured clear distance ahead and collided with the rear of Unit #2, which was traveling west on Benchwood Road in the left turn lane and was stopped in traffic.

October 25 – Martindale Road

Unit #1 was traveling eastbound on Martindale Road in the eastbound lane of travel, and when at 705 Martindale Road, Unit #1 lost control of the vehicle, drove off the right side of the road, and struck a wood utility pole.

October 25 – U.S. 40 @ Aullwood Road

Unit #1 was traveling west on US 40 (W. National Road)in the west bound lane and when at Aullwood Road, Unit #1 lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line, struck the east bound curb, and continued until striking the guard rail, causing significant damage to the guard rail. Unit #1 then stood vertically on the front end and turned to the left. Unit #1 then landed on its tires facing eastbound against the east bound guard rail.

October 26 – Frederick Pike @ Old Springfield

Unit #1 was traveling northbound on Frederick Pike in the northbound lane of travel, and when at the intersection with Old Springfield Road, Unit #1 failed to stop for a posted stop sign, and collided with Unit #2, which was traveling westbound on Old Springfield Road in the westbound lane of travel and was attempting to traverse the intersection. Unit #2 had the right of way at the intersection.

The collision of Unit #1 with Unit #2 caused Unit #1 to collide with Unit #3, which was traveling southbound on Frederick Pike in the southbound lane of travel and was stopped in traffic at the stop sign. After striking Unit #3, Unit #1 went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, and struck the wall and porch area of 11526 Frederick Pike.

October 27 – Little York Road

Unit #1 was traveling east on Little York Road in the east bound lane and when at 2535 Little York Road Unit #1 lost control of the vehicle and struck the embankment on the west side of the road, then re-entered the roadway and continued west into the pond.

October 30 – Little York Road

Unit #1 was traveling eastbound on Little York Road in the eastbound lane and when at 2535, Unit #1 lost control of the vehicle, departed the roadway to the right striking a yellow turn warning sign.
