VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.
Domingo Oritz, 36, of Covington, KY, was arrested for forgery and counterfeiting false identification after a traffic stop near the Animal Resource Center. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
Herbert J. Boddie, 62, of Dayton, was issued a summons for shoplifting from the Rite Aid and released. He was issued a trespass for the store for 24 months.
While on patrol at the Super 8 motel an officer found a license plate on a vehicle that expired in 2011. The plate was removed and placed in evidence. The investigation continues.
A resident on N. Perry St. reported that a contractor painting his house stole a ladder that he had been allowed to use but refused to return it. The investigation continues.
An Ohio State Trooper brought Brice Rader, 36, of Vandalia, to the department for an Intoxilyzer test. He tested .136 BAC and was released to a sober person.
Travis W. Goin-Helfinstine, 19, of Clayton, was charged with possession of marijuana after officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near Ken’s Pharmacy. He was issued a summons.
Officers investigated a suspect who paid for a vehicle from Joseph Airport Toyota with a personal check that did not clear the bank with sufficient funds. Attempts to contact the suspect or get the vehicle back were unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
Ronda L. Precht, 53, was charged with shoplifting from the Dollar General store. She was issued a summons.
Donald E. Thagard, 41, was arrested on a warrant for disorderly conduct out of Vandalia Municipal Court. He posted bond and was released.
An employee of Tru-Green on Center Drive reported that he suspected an ex-girlfriend had spray painted the driver’s side of a vehicle he was driving. The investigation continues.
An officer responded to the report of a vehicle theft at Hertz Rent A Car on W. National Road. The investigation continues.
An officer investigated a subject who paid Joseph Airport Toyota for service repair with a bad check. Multiple attempts have been made to contact the person. The investigation continues.
Police responded to an address on Bayonne Ct. on the report of an unruly juvenile. The investigation continues.
