DAYTON – A Butler High School senior has been killed in a single vehicle crash.
Alexandria “Allie” Fowler, 17, was killed in a single vehicle crash on State Route 4 near Stanley Avenue on Monday afternoon. The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m.
Fowler’s death was confirmed by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and Vandalia-Butler City School Superintendent Bradley Neavin.
Neavin said that Fowler had been attending classes at Wright State University.
“The high school administration team and counseling staff will be meeting first thing in the morning to determine how to best serve the needs of our students and staff as they process this sad news,” said Neavin in an email to staff. “It is typical in these types of situations to have counselors and clergy members available for individuals or groups to speak with throughout the day.”
According to WHIO, Fowler’s car hit a guardrail pinning her in the wreckage. She was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.
Neavin said that the death will be felt in the entire community.
“While details are limited at this point in time, we do know that this family, our VBCSD Family, and the entire Vandalia-Butler community will be impacted greatly by this loss and our thoughts and prayers will be focused on getting through this difficult time,” he wrote. “Please hug your babies and take care of yourself and each other.”
