Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

August 17

Officers were called to an address on W. National Road on the report of a broken window. They discovered an unsecured door and damage inside the structure where copper wire and pipe was removed. The investigation continues.

August 18

Alanna VS Bryant, 18, of Fairborn, was charged with cruelty to animals after her dog was left unattended in a vehicle at Creative Images on Poe Avenue. She was issued a summons.

Harry J. Stathas, 35, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct/intoxication after being found behind Bunkers Bar passed out. He was released to a sober friend.

The department received a call regarding concern for the welfare of two minors who complained about not having food and being exposed to drugs but not being in imminent danger. The investigation continues.

A business in Shadowood Drive reported that after terminating an employee his work van was found to be missing several thousand dollars worth of equipment. The investigation continues.

August 19

David M. Kasel, 30, of Dayton, was charged with telecommunications harassment after texting individuals he was instructed not to text message. He was issued a summons.

Robert Martin, Jr., 23, was arrested for theft, obstructing official business, and criminal trespassing after officers were called to the Vandalia Carry Out on a report of a theft of alcohol and a person causing a disturbance. Martin was captured after attempting to flee on foot and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Bonnie J. Renacs, 60, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for failure to appear on an original charge of receiving stolen property. She was transported to the county jail.

August 20

Nicole M. Niswonger, 40, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on Sussex Place. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Donovan S. Stankus, 23, was brought to the police department for an Intoxilyzer test by the Ohio State Patrol. He tested .159% BAC and remained in the custody of the Trooper.

Glenn A. Wolfe, 40, of West Milton, was arrested on a warrant out of Beavercreek for aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment after his license plate was run through LEADS at the Hawthorne Suites. Custody was transferred to Beavercreek police.

While investigating a report of a juvenile trespassing on school property, a juvenile male was found near the Board of Education building after curfew. He was taken home and released to his father.

August 21

A resident on Maple St. reported that her debit card was used at a Lowe’s in North Carolina without her permission. The investigation continues.

Stephen E. Sink, 48, was arrested for trespassing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest after becoming beligerent at the Hot Air Balloon Bar. He was transported to the county jail.

A complainant on Spartan Ave. reported that someone entered her garage and stole several items from her purse and the purse of a friend. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported damage to a vehicle parked on Cornish Dr. The investigation continues.

August 22

Amber N. Miller, 35, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct/public intoxication after a resident on Vista Ave. reported an unknown female attempting to open the front door of a residence. She was released at the scene.

A business on N. Dixie Dr. reported the back door to the business being forced open and a television being stolen. The investigation continues.

A resident on Brown School Road reported damage from a pellet or BB gun to her fence and siding on her garage. The investigation continues.

A complainant at ViaQuest reported that a former employee had failed to return several items, including a laptpop and cell phone, after being terminated and several attempts were made to retrieve the items. The investigation continues.

Vincent G. Heflin, II, of Huber Heights, was cited for driving under suspension and no license plates after a stop at Poe Ave. and Little York Road. The vehicle was towed.
