BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Accident reports

7/25/16 Little York Road

Unit #1 was traveling south from private drive attempting to enter the driveway of 572 Little York Road, and in so doing, failed to yield the right of way to, and was struck by unit #2, which was traveling east on Little York Road in the right lane.

7/26/16 Martindale Road

Unit #1 was traveling eastbound on Martindale Road in the eastbound lane of travel, and when at 661 Martindale Road, Unit #1’s front right tire blew causing Unit #1 to go off the right side of the road, strike a tree, and strike a road sign. Unit #1 not cited for failure to control. Evidence at scene corroborated Unit #1’s version of the events.

7/27/16 Stonequarry Road @ Dog Leg Road

Unit #1 was traveling west on Stonequarry Road and after having made the required safety stop at Dog Leg Road, Unit #1 proceeded into the intersection to turn left, and in so doing, failed to yield the right of way, and collided with Unit #2, which was traveling north on Dog Leg Road in the northbound lane.

7/27/16 Air Park Blvd @ US 40

Unit #1 was traveling south on Airpark Boulevard in the left lane and when about 200’ north of US 40, failed to stop within the assured clear distance ahead and collided with the rear Unit #2 which was traveling south on Airpark Boulevard in the left and was stopped in traffic.

7/29/16 Commerce Center Dr. @ York Commons

Unit #1 was traveling south on Commerce Center Drive in the south bound lane and when at the stop sign at Commerce Center Drive and York Commons Blvd, attempted to turn left (east) from the south lane of travel and in so doing, collided with the front bumper of Unit #2 which was in the left turn lane, attempting to turn east from south bound Commerce Center.

7/29/16 Martindale Road

Unit #1 was traveling west on Martindale Road in the west bound lane and when 50’ east of the driveway for 681 Martindale Road, Unit #1 lost control of the vehicle and the rear of the vehicle began to slide to the left. The driver of Unit #1 tried to correct the slide and over corrected causing Unit #1 to run off the the left side of the roadway and collide with a culvert, then a hedge row stopping about 2’ feet in the woods.

7/30/16 US 40 @ 4361

Unit #1 was traveling south from the private drive of 4361 U.S. 40 (W. National Road) and after having made the required safety stop at the stop sign, proceeded into the intersection to turn left or east, and in so doing, failed to yield the right of way, and collided with Unit #2 which was traveling west on U.S. 40 (W. National Road) in the west bound lane.
