BUTLER TWP. – A 37-year old Dayton woman was arrested Friday afternoon after a robbery attempt at the Steak ‘n Shake restaurant on Miller Lane and leading police on a chase.

Jessalynn Mae Harness is in the Montgomery County Jail with pending robbery charges after allegedly entering the Steak ‘n Shake around 3 p.m. on Friday armed with a stun gun. Police say that Harness gave an employee a note saying she would have them all killed if the employees did not give her money.

Harness left in a black truck. Six minutes later, an officer located the truck traveling south on Miller Lane and attempted a stop.

Harness then fled and officers initiated a short pursuit that was later cancelled.

A while later, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office entered into a pursuit of the suspect which ended when the vehicle crashed.

Harness was evaluated at a local hospital and then booked into the county jail.

A release from the Butler Township Police says that felony robbery and failure to comply charges will be presented to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
