Aullwood is a Blue Star Museum: Aullwood is one of more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to military personnel and their families this summer in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense.

Aullwood will offer free admission to active duty military personnel, National Guard and Reserve and their families, as well as veterans from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The program also provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and learn more about their new communities after a military move. The complete list of participating museums is available at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

Flower Power Art Quilt Exhibit: Through September 11 Aullwood’s Hallway of Wonder at the Marie S. Aull Education Center is a wonderful place to view works of art. Aullwood is delighted to present our annual Art Quilt Exhibit from July 9 – September 11. Flowers range from snowy white trillium of the northern forests to the hot colored blossoms of the tropics. Hummingbirds, bats, bees, butterflies, moths and other pollinators dine on their nectar. They become fruits and vegetables – peas, peaches and tomatoes. They enchant us, inspire us and give us hope. We could not live without them. Dwayne M. Daniel, the juror for this exhibit, holds an MFA from Miami University, Oxford. He graduated with honors from Central State University and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Central State University.
