VANDALIA — The 2016-17 school year is right around the corner with the first day of school set for Tuesday August 16. The staff and administration of the Vandalia-Butler City Schools have released the following, building specific, back-to-school information:

Butler High School

Freshman Orientation

Orientation for the Butler High School incoming Class of 2020 will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the Performing Arts Theater. Girls are 8:30-11:30 and boys are 12:30-3:30.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration in the Vandalia-Butler City Schools District is underway! Parents are encouraged to register their kindergartners early in order to avoid the last minute rush in August.

Children must reach 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2016, to be eligible to enroll for kindergarten for the fall of 2016.

Registration packets are available:

  • • At Demmitt and Helke Elementary schools (office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • • At the Central Enrollment Office at the Board of Education, 306 South Dixie Drive, Door #4 (office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

All completed packets must be returned to the Central Enrollment Office, by appointment only. After you have completed the enrollment packet and have all the required documentation, please call 415-6410 to schedule your appointment.
