VANDALIA — Three Butler High School graduating seniors were awarded scholarships from Sister Cities of Vandalia on May 19 at Butler High School’s Awards Program.

Recipient of the $2,000 Walter L. Lakin Memorial Scholarship was Denish Patel, who will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. The other two recipients, Corina Kreill and Madison Scherer, each received $1,000 scholarships. Both will be majoring in Early Childhood Education at Bowling Green State University. Each student is eligible to receive an additional $1,000 next year if they maintain a 3.25 average during their first year of college.

Funding for the Vandalia Sister Cities Scholarship program comes from our annual Oktoberfest.

Hats off to these outstanding students and best wishes as they pursue their academic and career goals.
