BUTLER TOWNSHIP — The following police activity report was received from the Butler Township Police Department. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Darwin K. Leake, 30, possession of heroin

Accident reports

3138 Benchwood Road

Unit 2 was traveling east on Benchwood Road in the eastbound lane and when at 3138, Unit 1 darted out from behind a box truck and into the path of unit 2. Unit 2 did not have a chance to stop and struck Unit 1. All witnesses stated that Unit 2 was not speeding and did not have time to react to the bicyclist.

Miller Lane @ York Commons

Unit #1 was traveling southbound on Miller Lane in the southbound lane and when at York Commons Boulevard, failed to stop within the assured clear distance ahead and collided with the rear of Unit #2, which was traveling southbound on Miller Lane in the southbound lane and was stopped in traffic.

6611 Miller Lane

Unit #1 was traveling northbound on Miller Lane in the left-turn lane and when at 6611, failed to stop within the assured clear distance ahead and collided with the rear of unit #2, which was traveling northbound on Miller Lane in the left-turn lane and was stopped in traffic.

York Commons @ Towne Center

Unit #1 was traveling westbound on York Commons Boulevard in the westbound lane, and when at Towne Center Drive, unit #1 failed to obey the traffic control device (stop sign), proceeded into the intersection, and struck unit #2, which was turning northbound into the parking lot of Walmart from the eastbound left-turn-only lane of York Commons Boulevard. The driver of unit #1 admitted to running the stop sign and said he forgot it was there. The driver of unit #1 did not have a valid driver’s license.

Benchwood Road @ Miller Lane

Unit #1 was traveling west on Benchwood Road in the right-turn lane and when at Miller Lane, failed to stop within the assured clear distance ahead and collided with the rear of Unit #2, which was traveling west on Benchwood Road in the right-turn Lane and was stopped in traffic.
