Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

May 10

An officer stopped a vehicle that was being driven by a person known to have a suspended license. Charles J. Gray, 34, at large was cited for driving under suspension and Charles B. Gray, 67, at large, the passenger who was the owner, was cited for wrongful entrustment.

Marcus V. Combs, 24, was arrested for OVI after crashing his vehicle into the tree line near Old Springfield Road. He was released to a friend.

May 11

A 15-year old juvenile was arrested for assault after a fight. He was taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

A complainant on Randler Avenue reported that an unknown person had compromised her bank card and opened a loan in her name. The investigation continues.

A 17-year old juvenile female was charged with sending nude photos of herself to an adult male. She was referred to Juvenile Court.

May 12

Bobby D. Gibson, 21, was arrested for criminal damaging after kicking a truck and denting it. He was released with a summons.

May 13

Stephanie E. Hackett, 27, of Covington, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on Foley Drive. She was taken to the county jail.

A business on Webster St. reported that two employees’ vehicles were broken into and items stolen. The investigation continues.

Jasmine L. Whitfield, 24, of Dayton, was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County Area 2 Court for failure to appear on a driving under suspension and another warrant out of Miami County for failure to appear on theft. She was taken to the county jail.

May 14

Edwin T. Winkler, 34, was arrested on a warrant out of Miami County after officers were dispatched to I-75 South on the report of subjects jumping in traffic. Winkler was taken to the county jail and the Ohio State Patrol handled the other subjects regarding a crash.

An unknown driver struck a semi tractor at the Flying J Travel Plaza and fled the scene.

May 15

Logan M. Peters, 19, was issued a summons for peeling, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after a traffic stop due to peeling his tires near the Speedway on National Road. A juvenile male was also charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Both were released.

May 16

Evans Motorworks reported that two known subjects took a vehicle on a test drive and failed to return it. The investigation continues.

Stephanie D. Page, 28, and James M. Page, 57, were issued summonses for disorderly conduct after a mutual physical altercation.

May 18

Unknown subjects used a large rock and tool to break out the southwest window at Vandalia Range & Armory. No entry was gained. The investigation continues.

A resident on Old Derby Court reported that an unknown person filed taxes using his ID and received a refund that belongs to him. This is the second year in a row this has happened. The matter will be investigated by the IRS.

Kristen E. Richie, 30, was arrested on warrants out of Miamisburg Municipal Court for failure to appear on an OVI charge and Xenia Municipal Court for failure to appear on a driving under suspension charge after officers investigated a complaint of reckless driving. She was taken to the county jail.
