Vandalia Police Reports April 19-25

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

April 19

Jennifer A. Slone, 39, of Dayton, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for driving under suspension out of Montgomery County West court after an officer investigated suspicious activity at the Knights Inn. She was taken to the county jail.

Darrell Appling, 25, of Dayton, was arrested on a felony warrant for probation violation out of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court after an officer investigated suspicious activity at the Knights Inn. He was taken to the county jail.

Virgil L. Trammel, 56, was issued a citation for a violation of animal control laws.

John W. Wright, 67, was arrested for OVI after being observed committing several traffic infractions. He was released to a sober friend.

John M. Santos, 21, was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County Juvenile Court for failure to appear for paternity testing after an officer investigated a trespassing complaint. He was taken to the county jail.

Tyler J. Weitz, 29, of Celina, was arrested on a warrant out of Mercer County for an original charge of intimidation. He was taken to the county jail.

Officers were called to the Family Dollar to investigate a shoplifting incident. The investigation continues.

April 20

A resident on Benchwood Road found a hedge trimmer in the street in front of her house. They were placed in police property for safekeeping.

Amy L. Oliver, of Dayton, was arrested for OVI/physical control after police responded to Bunkers. She became belligerent and was transported to the county jail.

A complainant reported that her ex-husband and his girlfriend have been harassing her via phone for a month. The investigation continues.

A business on Little York Road reported receiving two harassing voice mails from an unknown caller. The investigation continues.

A 16-year old juvenile female was arrested on a warrant out of Oakwood for intimidation of a witness. She was transferred to the Oakwood P.D.

April 23

Samuel C. Charlier, 25, was cited for possession of marijuana after officers were dispatched to Old Springfield Road on the report of a male staggering in the roadway. He was transported for medical attention.

A 16-year old juvenile female was arrested for being on an unruly charge and a felony warrant for probation violation on an original charge of burglary. She was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

April 24

Jaime L. Blevins, 28, was cited for theft after officers responded to a soliciting complaint at the Dollar General store. She was trespassed from the store. Blevins was later found soliciting at the American Legion Post and given a notice of criminal trespassing. She was also cited for a traffic violation for walking in the middle of the road.

A complainant reported that his juvenile son was setting up a “drug deal” on his phone via a texting app. The juvenile fled the scene but was later found at Jim’s Donuts. He was transported home where he admitted to providing information about where and who to purchase drugs from. The phone was seized with the father’s permission. The investigation continues.

April 25

A complainant from Columbus received information that her ex-boyfriend had pawned her stolen ring at a Vandalia pawn shop. The ring was located at Loan Star Pawn Shop and a hold placed on the item.
