VANDALIA — Butler High School is once again presenting the honorable Memorial Program for veterans of the Butler Township and Vandalia community, May 20th.
Beginning in 1979, the high school has presented this program every year since, and this year is no exception.
Kathy Baker, a teacher at Butler, is one of the leading coordinators of the annual program.
“Over the past four years, the social studies department has worked to vary the program. We have also expanded our outreach to increase community attendance at the program,” Baker said.
The school is asking any family members or honored guests local veterans, local dignitaries and military representatives attend the program.
“We are looking to update our list of local archive members of the military and veterans. If you know any military personnel who are currently serving, please mention our program to them and invite them to join us as our honored guests,” Baker said.
The program is scheduled for 1:30 pm, May 20 in the Butler High School Student Activity Center (SAC). While an RSVP is not required, checking in with Baker in the Banquet Facility before the program is much appreciated.
