Montgomery County to honor fallen officers


10th Annual Memorial Ceremony to be held Friday

DAYTON — Law enforcement officers, elected officials, public dignitaries, family survivors, and the general public are invited to join together on Friday, May 6, 2016, to honor the 38 Montgomery County law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty over the past 130 years.

The Memorial Ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. preceded with a procession ofofficers, retirees, and cruisers arriving at the ceremony site at Riverscape at 10:45 a.m. The keynote speaker will be Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor. The officer survivor speaker will be Clairton, PA, police officer James Kuzak Jr., who was shot in the line-of-duty while investigating a home invasion, and is paralyzed from his injuries.
