BUTLER TWO. – The Butler Township Board of Trustees is seeking letters of intent and qualifications from residents who wish to occupy a seat on the Butler Township Budget Commission. The Budget Commission will be comprised of the Township’s Fiscal Officer, the Township Administrator and 5 citizen members. Each of the three Trustees will make a direct appointment of a citizen member and the two (2) remaining citizen member appointments will be filled by a unanimous vote of the Trustees.

The Butler Township Board of Trustees passed a resolution, on Monday, March 14, 2016, establishing the Budget Commission. The purpose of the commission is to review the condition of the township’s current budget and make recommendations on the upcoming annual budget and on the future budget projections, as deemed to be in the interest of the public. The commission’s role in the budget process is to provide a critical, yet cooperative, review. After the commission has completed its review, it will report its findings and recommendations to the Board of Trustees in a public meeting.

All letters must be submitted by April 1, 2016.
