Vandalia police reports Feb. 19-23

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

February 19

Officers reported to an address on Mountair Dr. on the report of a female with dementia being combative. She was transported to Grandview Hospital.

Jessica Z. Buell, 36, was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop on E. National Road at Waller Ave. She was released to family member.

A complainant reported that her credit/debit card was lost or stolen at Sam’s Club on Miller Lane and a withdrawal had occurred in the region. The investigation continues.

February 20

Noelle A. Brown, Tipp City, 30, was arrested for OVI after a traffic ctip on E. Stonequarry Road near S. Dixie Drive. She was released to a friend.

Richard M. Adkins, Dayton, 35, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Montgomery County. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Dewayne Payne, 35, Dayton, was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be under suspension and was cited. The vehicle was towed.

Rebecca J. Scantland, Greenville, 57, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct (loud music) after a complaint.

A resident made a complaint at the police department about a phone scam with the suspect pretending to be a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy and demanding $650. The investigation continues.

February 21

An officer seized a hatchet from a suspicious person for safekeeping. Dennis C. Jones, 51, of Pomeroy, OH and Emily M. Perkins, 36, Kettering, were issued summonses for trespassing.

John M. Santos, 20, was arrested for felony domestic violence after a lengthy search and short foot chase near Winding Hollow Trail. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

Two unknown females left the Waffle House without paying their bill. The investigation continues.

Officers were called to the Knights Inn and found a person not breathing. Medics revived the person using Narcan and transported him to Grandview Hospital.

An unknown person set a fire in a grass area near Johnson Station Road. The investigation continues.

February 22

An officer was called to Ashworth Dr. on the report of criminal damaging to a vehicle. The investigation continues.

February 23

Jaressia Breille D. Byrd, 20, Dayton, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court after a traffic stop on Stop Eight Road. She was transferred to the custody of a Butler Township police officer.
