VANDALIA — When one door closes, another one opens.

Two longtime licensed massage therapists have launched a new business, Transition to Wellness, in Vandalia, and are inviting the community to an open house from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday March 19.

Refreshments and light fare will be available, as well as a special gift certificate offer — buy one and receive one half off.

When Harmony Farm, a longstanding family-owned business that specialized in massage therapy, facials, body treatments and other services, closed on Dec. 30 two of its therapists quickly began looking for a space that would be convenient and affordable for their clients.

“It was a total shock to all of us,” says Laurie Davis, LMT, about the closure. “We had all been there so many years and never thought of working anywhere else. That is how special the business was for us and our clients. However, the reality of the situation was we had to find other business spaces to continue our work as practitioners.”

It didn’t take Davis and Vicki Reynolds, LMT, much time to discover what they call “the perfect space.” In January, they opened Transition to Wellness, offering many of the same services their clients enjoyed at Harmony Farm.

“It’s a more intimate setting,” Davis said. “We can accommodate up to four people, and we can offer a romantic couples massage room. We are excited to continue our work as massage therapists at this great new location.”

The Vandalia-Butler Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new business into the community with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 14.

To schedule massages and other services, call Laurie Davis, LMT 937-361-6473 or Vicki Reynolds, LMT 937-572-7266. To find out about periodic specials “like” Transition to Wellness on Facebook.
