Butler swimmers advance to finals at State


RelayCANTON — All of Butler’s swimmers have advanced to the state finals after preliminary competition on Friday.

Leading the way was Tommy Cope who placed first in the 100 Breaststroke in a time of 55.12. Cope placed second in the 200 Individual Medley with a school record time of 1:47.20.

In the 200 Free Relay, Cope joined Brendan Shanahan, Ian Barrett and Colin Wolfe in a school record time of 1:28.44 to place 14th and qualify for Saturday’s finals.
