One suspect arrested, others at large in Butler Township counterfeiting case

BUTLER TOWNSHIP — Butler Township Police have made an arrest in connections with the passing of fake $100 bills at several retail establishments. However, police are still seeking the identity of two other individuals suspected in the incident.

According to police, the incidents occurred on Thursday, Jan. 21 between 8 and 10 p.m.

Michael A. Marshall of Columbus has been arrested but his vehicle has not been found. He was listed as suspect 1 in the original press release on Friday.

Suspect 2, who police are still seeking, is described as a light skinned black male in his early to mid 20’s, stocky build, goatee and/or thin beard, has longer hair that is worn in a pony tail and is driving a light tan or silver mini van. On at least one of the offenses, the van he is driving had several people inside.

Police have found this suspect’s vehicle but are still seeking the public’s help in identifying him.

Matthew D.L. McClain, 18, of Columbus, has been identified as suspect 3, but neither he or his vehicle has been found. McClain is described as a light skinned or Hispanic male in his early 20’s, stocky build, short hair and heavily tattooed arms. He is driving a light beige or silver 4-door mid sized car with a sunroof.
