Peanut butter collection to benefit food pantry

VANDALIA — A recent study has ranked the state of Ohio as fourth in the country in terms of the number of “food Insecure” households! Over 39,000 children are impacted by this sad statistic. The City of Vandalia is not immune from this issue. We are, however, blessed to have employees, citizens and a local food pantry that work in partnership to address the issue of hunger in our community. We encourage you to support initiative of the Dayton Bar Association: a campaign to collect peanut butter. Why peanut butter? Because it is kid-friendly and packed with nutrition. The campaign is called the Bar Hunger: Peanut Butter and Justice Challenge.

Bins have been placed in the lobby of the city building, at the Vandalia Police Department in the Vandalia Municipal Court for the collection of peanut butter through February 29. Our challenge is to fill the bins. Please help us succeed in this worthwhile cause. All donations will go to the Vandalia Food Pantry.
