Over 8,000 toy and food items were donated to Vandalia Food Pantry as part of the Butler High School National Honor Society annual food/toy drive.

VANDALIA — The numbers are in and it’s a great year for the Butler National Honor Society Food/Toy Drive. Thanks to all of the amazing donations, the Vandalia Food Pantry received more than 8,000 items to be shared with community members who need some extra help this year.

Morton Middle School students and staff brought in the most items this year with 3,553! Other donations by building: Demmitt 492, Helke 1,254, Smith 1,233, Butler 1,621 and the Board of Education with 100.

Thank you to students, staff and community members who helped with this event. Your time and donations will certainly be appreciated.
