Schools, city and township officials to hold joint meeting

Staff reports

VANDALIA — In an effort to continue the ongoing dialogue regarding local control, school district, city and township officials will hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center, located at 21 Tionda Drive South.

A public meeting was held in August to discuss funding and legislative issues impacting all of the group’s constituents. That meeting resulted in further conversation between school, city and township officials and action to move forward toward a joint resolution to take back local control.

The Vandalia-Butler City Schools Board of Education passed its own resolution to take back local control April 28, 2015. That resolution was sent to Gov. John Kasich’s office as well as to local state representatives and senators.

The public is invited to attend Monday’s meeting.
