Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

October 29

An employee of the Kroger Fuel Station reported a red truck was stuck in a ditch near the Kroger store on Northwoods. The driver, Shad C. Spencer, 47, was arrested for OVI. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

October 30

After running the license plate of a vehicle parked at Knights Inn through LEADS, the vehicle came back as stolen. The entering agency, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, had the vehicle towed from the lot.

Officers responded to an address on Imperial Court on the report of an assault with a bat and pepper spray. The victim was transported to Grandview Hospital. The investigation continues.

An employee of Dollar General reported that a couple were shoplifting. After he confronted them, they were uncooperative and left the store. The investigation continues.

A complainant on Imperial Court reported that her auto windshield was smashed. The investigation continues.

A complainant on Timberwind Lane broke out the driver’s side window and stole $0 cash and coins from a vehicle. The investigation continues.

A complainant on S. Brown School Road reported that his radio was stolen from his vehicle. The investigation continues.

October 31

Amy E. Howard, 30, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident involving her husband at an address on S. Brown School Road. She was issued a summons.

A complainant reported that unknown persons hit the garage door at an address on Stoney Springs Road causing damage. The investigation continues.

A complainant on Allanhurst reported the theft of an item from her front porch. The investigation continues.

A complainant at the Vandalia Recreation Center reported that an unknown male threw him down and punched him in the head several times. The person left the scene before police arrived. The investigation continues.

Joshua D. Tincher, 25, and Richard H. Ward, 24, were issued summonses for disorderly conduct after officers responded to a fight at an address on Stoney Springs.

November 1

Damon Grimes, 38, and Danielle York, 38, were arrested for shoplifting at Kroger. Grimes also had two warrants. One was for failure to appear on a motor vehicle theft out of Greene County and the other was for failure to appear on a drug charge out of Montgomery County Municipal Court East. Both were taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

Marquis L. Clay, 40, was arrested for OVI after a speeding stop at Little York Road and Anglers Lane. She was released to a friend.

November 2

After a license plate check at Little York Tavern, Stephen C. Witt, 64, was arrested on a warrant out of Kettering Municipal Court. H was transferred to a Centerville police officer.

Kelly Craig, 35, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct after an incident at the Domino’s on National Road.

Tim M. Martin,58, was arrested for OVI after an incident at the McDonald’s on National Road. He fled the scene and was found at his home on Cassel Road. He was released to a sober adult.

A complainant on Bright Ave. reported that a known person used a chair to break a window in his vehicle after an argument. The subject fled before police arrived. The investigation continues.

November 3

Johnathan N. Nohacs, 21, was arrested on a probation violation warrant by Miami County Sherrif’s Deputy. He was transferred to Vandalia police and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

A 17-year old juvenile male was charged with possession of drug and drug paraphernalia. He was released to his father.

A 14-year old juvenile female was arrested for theft of a pack of cigarettes from an employee of a hair salon on National Road. She was released to her father.
