Shoes 4 The Shoeless assists area students

VANDALIA — Kris Horlacher, Executive Director of Shoes 4 The Shoeless, spoke to the Rotary Club of Vandalia on Thursday,Oct. 29. Shoes 4 the Shoeless is a faith-based non-profit organization that has been providing new, correctly fitting gym shoes and socks to Dayton area children in desperate need since 2010. They are invited by schools in the Dayton area to assist students. They set up a shoe store in the school and volunteers measure the children’s feet and makes sure the new pair of shoes fits the child, that the child likes the shoes and that they feel good. They also make available new underwear to school personnel for children that need these garments. The organization helps 800 to 900 children a month and is in need of volunteers and money.
