Vandalia Police Reports – Sept. 19-22

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

September 19

A resident on Deerhurst Drive reported that unknown persons used his debit card for transactions at a Speeedway in Riverside despite the card being in his possession. The investigation continues.

Five juveniles, ages 14-16, were charged with criminal trespass after they were found smoking tobacco in a covered stairwell after an initial call for breaking and entering. One of the juveniles, a 14-year old juvenile male, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All were released.

Lindsey A. Siler, 24, was arrested for domestic violence after an incident at an address on Donora Drive. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Police had a tractor trailer towed from the Flying J Truck Stop on Northwoods that was parked in a fire lane. Police attempted contact with the trucking company without success.

Eric B. Brown, 53, and Brian D. Sanders, 49, were cited for threats/menacing after an incident at Crossroads Rehabilitation on Cassel Road. Both were released with a summons.

September 20

A complainant on N. Cassel Road reported that an unknown person stole a gun from the console of his father’s truck. The complainant also reported an assault and being held at knife point to find where a safe was at the home. The investigation continues.

A resident on Imperial Court reported that unknown persons entered her apartment through a window and took her purse. The investigation continues.

Ernest K. Rice, 49, was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication after a complaint from a customer at the McDonald’s on National Road. He was found passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He was released to his wife.

A complainant reported that he was assaulted behind the Kroger on Northwoods Blvd. The victim suffered a fractured left shoulder. The investigation continues.

September 21

Steven F. Zahn, 62, was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop at National Road at the Airport Access Road for a turn signal violation. He was released to his mother.

A resident on Imperial Court reported that someone broke into her apartment and stole 82 Xanax pills while she was asleep. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported that an unknown person damaged her vehicle while she was parked at the Kroger on Northwoods Blvd. The investigation continues.

Ashley M. Gonzalez, 26, was arrested for receiving stolen property after a random license plate check found a license plate sticker that was partially torn. She was released with a summons.

September 22

A resident on Bayone Dr. reported that she found a bicycle in her front yard. It was taken to police storage.
