VANDALIA — The Butler High School homecoming parade is set for Thursday, Oct. 8 beginning at 5:45, and the Vandalia Division of Police would like to remind motorists of the route and street closures.

Like last year, the parade route will start on N. Dixie at Old Firehouse #1 (Across from Dairy Crème), run south on Dixie and ends at the reconstructed driveway entrance just south of the new library construction site.

The police will be stopping traffic at North Dixie at Northwoods and at South Dixie at E. Alkaline Springs Rd. All traffic from the south on Dixie will be routed to E. Alkaline Springs to Kenbrook to Ranchview.

All the side streets will be blocked with sawhorses. Officers will be posted at National and Dixie. The parade should last about 30 minutes.
