BUTLER TOWNSHIP — Enjoy an apple feast and so much more at Aullwood Apple Fest! Spend the day at Aullwood Farm on September 26-27 at Aullwood Farm and enjoy all the sights, sounds and delicious aromas of Apple Fest. Apple Fest means delicious food!

Sample apple pie baked in a Dutch oven, freshly pressed cider, Vandalia Lions lemon shakes, kettle corn, Oasis fish boats, cabbage rolls from Jerri’s Catering and Bella Sorrella pizza baked in a wood fired oven. See how we make apple butter in copper kettles and purchase a pint to take home. Corn-on-the-cob, apple dumplings, lamb chili and grilled cheese taste great on a fall afternoon and Aullwood’s food booth features a variety of sandwiches made with our farm fresh meats. Aullwood’s Bake Sale booth, Brookville Optimist Sugar Waffles and Ullery’s home-made ice cream offer sweet treats.

Fun children’s activities will keep the little ones entertained with games and crafts, and the PNC Mobile Learning Adventure is truly an adventure. New this year is the University of Dayton River Mobile featuring hands-on activities related to the Great Miami River watershed. Everyone enjoys a visit with farm animal friends and a tractor or draft horse pulled wagon ride. Greenview Garden Club members will be in the herb garden to share their knowledge of these special plants. Johnny Appleseed will stroll the festival grounds on Saturday and Sunday – always a festival highlight.

The bank barn is the place to be when Aullwood’s Chris Rowlands entertains with songs and tales of Johnny Appleseed and Ed Marrinan presents a Rooster Calling Contest. This year we will have an old-fashioned Apple Pie Eating Contest each day! On Saturday the Mad River Railroad performs several sets of old-time traditional country music and the Studio Fitness entertains on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Artisans and craft exhibitors will offer needle crafts, animal masks, sand art, garden ornaments, painted pumpkins, wood crafts, soaps and lotions, woven items, jewelry and more.
