Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

August 19

Tommie L. Darden, Jr., 61, was arrested on a warrant after a Fairborn detective located him outside the Super 8 motel. He was transported to the county jail.

An officer was dispatched to SVG Motors on the report of an auto theft by a known suspect. The suspect left a possibly stolen F-150 truck in the parking lot of the dealership. The investigation continues.

An officer was dispatched to Art Van Atta Park on the report of a deceased male with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The investigation continues.

Kathy D. King, 55, was arrested for two separate assaults after incidents at Crossroads Rehab. She was taken to the county jail.

August 18

A manager at Smedley’s Chevrolet reported that an unknown vehicle struck the sign base at the business. The investigation continues.

A business on Webster St. reported that a trailer was stolen. The investigation continues.

August 17

Police were called to Evans Motorworks on the report of a stolen vehicle found on their lot. Officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Miami County and had the vehicle towed.

A landlord brought ammunition to the police department for destruction.

Jimmy L. Brady, 35, was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for probation violation after he came to the Public Defender’s office at Vandalia Municipal Court. he was also charged with violating a temporary protection order from Vandalia Municipal Court.

A truck driver reported that his truck was struck by another driver who did not stop. The investigation continues.

An officer was dispatched to an address on Elva Ct. on the report of a private property hit and run. The investigation continues.

August 16

London Williams, 29, was arrested on a warrant out of Fairborn Municipal Court for failure to appear on driving under suspension after a traffic stop for not having a front license plate. He was transferred to the custody of a Fairborn officer and also cited for driving under suspension.

A complainant on Ronald St. reported that a bicycle was stolen. The investigation continues.

Maurice A. Dial, 30, was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication after officers responded to the McDonald’s on National Road. He was cited and released to a sober friend.

August 15

Gregory W. McKinney, 40, was issued a summons for theft after allegedly stealing a case of beer from the Speedway on E. National Road. He was also trespassed from the business. The beer was returned to the store.

Morgan L. Meyers, 46, was arrested for possession of a drug instrument after she was found in the parking lot by a Butler Township officer. She was also arrested on a warrant out of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for possession of drugs. She was transported to the county jail and trespassed from all Vandalia hotels.

Brandon W. Miller, 26, was cited for possession of marijuana and for violating the noise ordinance after pulling into the parking lot of Stubbies with a loud radio on.

A complainant on Crestwood Hills Dr. reported that his debit card had been compromised and unauthorized charges occurred. The investigation continues.

Ilisha D. Castro, 32, was cited for driving under suspension and for having expired registration after a stop at Little York Road and Poe Ave.

August 14

Officers had an apparently abandoned vehicle towed from the parking lot of Waibel on Falls Creek Blvd.

Prescription drugs were removed from the lobby drop box and marked for destruction in the next police property purge.

August 13

Jared N. Darden, 32, was arrested on a warrant out of Xenia Municipal Court for failure to appear for sentencing on a traffic case. He was transferred to the custody of a Yellow Springs police officer.

Sierra N. Hatcher, 20, was arrested for domestic violence after police were dispatched to an address on Pool Ave. on the report of an altercation. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

A 14-year juvenile male was arrested on a felony probation violation warrant on an original charge of aggravated robbery. He was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center.

Police were dispatched to an address on Marview Ave. on the report of a missing endangered adult. The investigation continues.

Officers were dispatched to the Kroger Fuel Center on the report of a person who drove off without paying for fuel. The investigation continues.

Randall A. Otto, 36, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for trial on an original charge of aggravated menacing. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Rodney J. Lewis, 34, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of burglary issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the county jail.

A complainant reported that she had been assaulted by a known person three days prior to the report. The investigation continues.

A truck was found on Corporate Center Dr. with the lights on and the engine running. No one was near the vehicle. Officers took possession of the keys and shut the vehicle down and locked the doors.
