Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

October 5

A property owner on S. Dixie Drive reported unknown person(s) entered into a vacant residence and stole several items. The investigation continues.

Officers responded to an address on Bayonne Dr. on the report of a missing juvenile. The investigation continues.

While investigating a complaint for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, officers arrested Mariah Kobus on a warrant out of Mercer County for probation violation on an original charge of drug possession. More charges were pending lab results. She was taken to the county jail.

An officer was dispatched to Butler High School on the report of students fighting. Due to conflicting stories and no parents wanting to pursue charges, no criminal charges will be filed. Disciplinary action will be handled by the school.

Ryan Daniels was arrested on a warrant out of Dayton Municipal Court for driving under suspension after police received a report of a subject leaning on the overpass wall at National Road and I-75. He was taken to the county jail.

October 6

An officer was dispatched to investigate a private property vehicle crash. The reportee said an unknown person struck the driver’s side of her mother’s vehicle while parked at Ken’s Pharmacy. The investigation continues.

An employee of RCF Properties in Dixie Drive reported damaged glass blocks on a house. The investigation continues.

A juvenile male was arrested for domestic violence after an incident on Poplar Grove Rd. He was transported to the juvenile detention center.

A resident on Wollenhaupt Dr. reported that an unknown person used a PayPal account to purchase a computer. The computer was delivered to their address. There are no known suspects. The investigation continues.

Chris Estep was issued a summons for disorderly conduct/public intoxication after being found on E. National Road. He was released to a sober friend.

October 7

An Ohio State Patrol Trooper brought Timothy Grimes to post for an intoxilyzer test after an arrest for OVI in Riverside. The results showed .194 BAC. Grimes remained in custody of the Trooper.

Ashley Ewald was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Airport Inn. The subject was transported to the county jail.

October 8

A property owner on Westhafer Rd. reported theft of property from his home. The investigation continues.

Katherine Wiggins was issued a summons for theft after an incident at Kroger.

October 9

After a stop of a vehicle on Little York Road for plates not matching the vehicle, the driver, Megan Carr, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Butler County Common Pleas court for failure to appear on an aggravated possession of drugs charge. The passenger, Mark Yount, was charged with multiple counts of driving under suspension after officers observed him driving prior to the traffic stop. The vehicle was towed. The investigation continues.

October 10

A resident on N. Brown School Road is having problems with a brother being disrespectful and not leaving her alone at her residence. Officers spoke with the brother and said it would be best to stay away from the sister’s residence. No further action required.

Doray Robinson was charged with assault after the assault on another woman on Timberlake Drive. She was issued a summons and released.

October 11

Jessica Strahan was issued a summons for petty theft at Kroger. The bottle of Ibuprofen was returned to the store.

October 12

Officers were dispatched to Living Word Church on N. Cassel Road on the report of theft of license plates off a vehicle. The investigation continues.

A resident on N. Dixie Drive reported the theft of license plates and a set of keys to a van he owns at an address on N. Dixie Drive. The plates were entered into LEADS as stolen. The investigation continues.

Police employees removed 26.22 pounds of prescription drugs from the police department lobby drop box. The drugs were secured in the property room and marked for destruction.
