Vandalia Police Reports

VANDALIA – The following police reports were received from the Vandalia Division of Police. All subjects are innocent until found guilty in court of law.

September 25

Unknown persons broke a door window at Demmitt Elementary School. They did not gain entry to the school. The investigation continues.

September 26

Chase Bank officials contacted police to check the welfare of a resident who had a joint account opened in his name with a power of attorney. Money was deposited in the account and most had been withdrawn. The investigation continues.

A neighbor of a property on S. Dixie Drive reported a man on a bicycle pulling a trailer making several trips to an unattached garage. Police discovered the garage had been entered and the door forcibly opened. The investigation continues.

September 27

A known juvenile was jumping on a drainage pipe and caused it to break. The investigation continues.

An officer responded to the Kroger on Northwoods Blvd. on the report of a hit/skip accident. The investigation continues.

Justin Leach was cited for possession of marijuana, failure to stop at a stop sign, and driving under suspension after a traffic stop on E. National Road.

Scott Furlong was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop for speeding on S. Dixie near Stonequarry Road. He was released from the police department.

September 28

Jessica E. Hyre, 29, was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for failure to appear on a criminal trespass charge. She was taken to the county jail.

A complainant on Ashbury Farms Drive reported that her purse was taken from her unlocked car. The investigation continues.

A juvenile on a school bus who attends an alternative school in Dayton said he had a knife in his back pack. Police checked the juvenile and he did not have weapons. The incident was reported to the school. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported that his car was stolen from the area of Pinto Place and Great Hill Road. The investigation continues.

Geoffrey Russell was arrested on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for probation violation on an original charge of OVI. He was taken to the county jail and issued a summons for disorderly conduct/intoxication.

Tommi Radford was cited for public intoxication after police responded to the Knights Inn.

September 29

Police responded to Karns Ave. on the report of an unruly juvenile. Police released the juvenile to her father who is the custodial parent.

September 30

A complainant has a protection order against a known suspect who called her. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

A complainant reported that her ex-husband violated a protection order by writing and placing a letter in her mailbox. The male denied placing the letter in the mailbox. The investigation continues.

After responding to Scene 75 to trespass two former employees, Deshawn Scruggs was found to have a warrant out of Dayton Municipal Court for driving under suspension. He was taken to the county jail.

Mackinzee AC Bankston, 29, was arrested on a warrant out of Clark County for failure to appear on a driving under suspension charge after Vandalia police stopped him for an expired plate. He was issued a summons for driving under suspension and expired plates. He was transferred to the custody of a Clark County Deputy.

October 1

A 17-year old juvenile was arrested for domestic violence after an incident at the Knights Inn. She was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

William Hayslett was issued a summons for criminal trespassing and Danielle Adkins was issued a summons for criminal trespassing and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after their property was found in an unoccupied apartment at Brookfield North Apartments.

October 2

Jayven Kilgore was arrested at the Clark County Jail on a warrant out of Vandalia Municipal Court for failure to appear for obstructing justice. He was taken to the county jail.

October 3

James L. Felfoldi, 54, was charged with OVI after hitting a parked vehicle. He was released to a family member.

October 4

A juvenile male was charged with stealing a bicycle. He was released to his mother.

A juvenile was arrested at Butler High School for on a failure to appear warrant for truancy out of the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. The juvenile was transported to the juvenile detention center.

Officers responded to Seger Park on the report of damage to the gazebo there. The investigation continues.
