VANDALIA — The state of Ohio recognizes the Vandalia Preschool as a Quality Learning and Development Program. With its commitment to quality and an ongoing dedication to the learning and development of children, the preschool has received a Five-Star Step Up To Quality Award.
Step Up To Quality is Ohio’s rating system for learning and development programs. Participating programs can earn a one to a five-star rating. A five-star rating means a child is in a program that has demonstrated the highest level of quality.
“Receiving the Step Up to Quality, Five-Star Rating from the Ohio Department of Education is quite an honor. It is confirmation that we are providing, not just a quality education to our preschoolers, but a quality experience as well,” Preschool Supervisor Lisa Hildebrand said.
The Vandalia-Butler Board of Education recognized the preschool staff and their accomplishment during the October monthly regular board meeting.
“The entire preschool staff works diligently to maintain a high level of performance in all areas of the Step Up To Quality rating scale. Receiving the five Stars is validation that our district has a top-notch preschool program,” Hildebrand said.
The Vandalia Preschool is located at Demmitt Elementary. There are a total of 112 students enrolled at the preschool this year. This group of students will become the graduating class of 2031.
