VANDALIA — Government agents show up at a farmer’s remote country side acreage and start to build a bridge where there is no river. Eight senior citizens dress up as smart-alecky kindergarteners while their prim and proper teacher tries to read them a fairy tale. Two travelers are flying on a budget airline, one of whom neglected to read the fine print of what only comes with extra charges. Where did all of these predicaments happen?

At the October 20 potluck dinner at the Vandalia Senior Citizens’ Club. The sharing of delicious foods was topped off by entertainment consisting of three humorous skits acted out by its Readers Theatre members. As chaotic as this all sounds the evening was a success. The meal was great and attendees laughed more than 90% of the time. Not a scientific poll — an estimate from a source who was there.
